Dubbed “the band we are all obsessed about” (Deb Grant, BBC 6 Music) Baiana (pronounced By-Anna) is the Brazilian- inspired project of sensational artist Laura Doyle.

Baiana have been wowing fans across the country with their acclaimed debut album produced by legendary Latin percussionist Snowboy, who will feature as a special guest on this exciting show!

Featuring a first-class line-up of Europe’s leading jazz musicians, their thrilling live show (musically directed by Snowboy) has been described as “Outstanding” (Robbie Vincent, Jazz FM) and “a proper wow factor performance” (John Osbourne, Solar Radio).

Covering a huge range of styles from fiery Sambas, Bossa Nova, Baião and everything in-between, Laura Doyle’s Baiana evokes the spirit of the Brazilian greats such as Elza Soares, Gal Costa, Elis Regina and the romantic torch singers of the 40s and 50s, whilst bringing her own unique voice to life through her beautiful original songs.

A hugely popular draw at Love Supreme and the Ealing Jazz festival, Baiana supported Brazilian mega-star Gilberto Gil on his UK tour. Singles from their eponymous debut album spent an unprecedented 30 weeks on Jazz FM’s A-List as well as being played by BBC 6 Music DJs such as Gilles Peterson and Chris Hawkins.

Refreshingly joyful and charismatic in all her performances and being hailed as a star in the making, Baiana’s live show is being heralded by the top DJs of the jazz world as a “must see” for 2024 with its heady mix of infectious rhythm, superb musicianship and beautiful song.

“A show that will go down in musical folklore” (Simon Phillips, Jazz FM).

Come and see for yourself why....
